If you are calibrating dial indicators using a indicator holder and a few gage blocks then you're probably missing errors in the rack and gear train. This setup allows you to quickly find errors anywhere in the full range of the indicator.

Tested with our calibrated Sylvac digital indicator. 0001" over the full 1" range. NOTE: Sylvac indicator shown is NOT included.

We've been calibrating indicators for over 25 years and we always replace the indicator contact point. Worn contacts or contacts that have embedded metal will cause errors. If your application requires resolution of 10µ just message us and we will list a inch/metric digital calibrator for you.
