See the side by side photos of the 657 (not included) and the 658 mag bases. Set has many unique features, the best is the fine adjustment located at the rear of the indicator holding post. Oversize mag base makes this less prone to tipping.

¾ upright and indicator post. Independent locks for all movements. There is a adapter that allows you to use accessories from the Starrett 657 series mag base. Metal storage case protects all components. Included indicator is the Starrett 25-131J with.

I've owned many of the 658 mag bases and have made upright post 30" long so I could reach features of large aircraft parts on a 120" VTL. This 658 has a tube upright that I found reduced vibration and weight.

I'll include the original upright post but you may have to chase the threads. Set is in very good condition.
