Here is a Starrett No. 657A magnetic base with a Starrett No. 711 last word indicator that are in very good used condition.
They have been used so you will find a few minor cosmetic imperfections but nothing that will effect their usefulness. Some of these imperfections include that the previous owner scribed his initials, GGW, in three different places on the magnetic base. I pint tjem out in the photos, they are kinda hard to see. He/She also scribed X-219 on the universal shank. It turns "on" and "off" easily and "sticks" solidly on any smooth steel surface.
It is great for getting into those tight places those larger magnetic bases just won't fit in. The fine adjustment knob helps make setting up this indicator a breeze. 711 last word indicator is also in excellent condition.
The original red protective case has done a very good job of protecting these tools. It has some scratches, scuffs, and a few other imperfections suffered from doing its job. It opens easily, snaps shut, and holds these tools securely.It will continue to protect your indicator for many years to come. These tools have a vertical reach of about 9 1/4" and a horizontal reach of about 6 1/2".
This American made magnetic base and indicator are ready to go back to work immediately and would make a great addition to any precision toolbox. Please look at all the photographs as they can describe the condition these tools much better than I can.
