Here is a Starrett No. 657AA magnetic base with a Scherr Tumico 1 dial indicator that are in very good used condition. These tools have worked very well together.
They have been used so you will find some minor scratches and scuffs from normal use. 657AA magnetic base works perfectly. It "sticks" solidly to any flat steel surface. Everything slides around easily and locks down tight wherever you want it to. The magnet turns "on" and "off" easily with just a push of the button.
The Scherr Tumico 1 dial indicator moves easily without any hesitations. There is a slight problem with this indicator. It does not always return to "0".
It comes close to returning to "0" everytime. Sometimes it is a couple thousands off. Please don't let this detract from what is otherwise a very nice set of tools.
This set up has a vertical reach of 18" and a horizontal reach of approximately 9". This American made magnetic base and??? Made indicator are both ready to go back to work immediately and would make a great addition to any precision tool box.
