657A magnetic base with a Starrett No. 196 dial indicator that are in very good used condition. These tools have been used so you will find a some cosmetic imperfections but nothing that will hinder their usefulness. One of these imperfections is that the original owner lightly scribed his/her name on the backside of this indicator. Please don't let this detract from what is otherwise a very nice used set of precision tools. The magnet has been used and probably abused. It looks pretty bad but works perfectly, just as designed. It turns "on" and "off" easily and "sticks" solidly on any smooth steel surface. The fine adjustment knob helps setting your indicator up a breeze. The Starrett dial indicator is also in excellent condition. The clear plastic lens has some scratches on it but is still easily readable. Everything will work perfectly for you! This base and indicator have a vertical reach of about 10" and a horizontal reach of about 6".

It fits great into those spots that the larger magnetic bases just won't fit. Also included is a No. 196K snug that holds these tools together. This American made tools are ready to go back to work immediately and would make a great addition to any precision toolbox.
